New Balance and Cooper Flagg to Debut Hesi Low v2 Sneaker for His First NBA Game

NBA number-one draft pick Cooper Flagg has his first shoe with New Balance coming out on Wednesday, his own version of the Hesi Low v2. The drop will coincide with his first game played in the NBA, when the Mavericks face the Spurs.

The refreshed Hesi Low v2 features a full-length FuelCell midsole accompanied by a redesign traction pattern. The sneaker boasts an engineered knit mesh upper that offers breathability and lightweight support, rounded outsole edges supporting smooth left to right transition, an external TPU heel counter offering a locked down experience of stability, a nylon shank at the midfoot for extra support and an outsole with a multidirectional traction pattern. The style also features synthetic overlay details and, in an ode to the sneaker’s moniker, the outsole displays a pause button graphic.

This Cooper Flagg x Hesi Low v2 color palette takes inspiration from Flagg’s home state of Maine. The color palette is called clay ash with boulder, offering green, cream and gray touches to an off-white background. The sneaker is set a price of $119.99.

Hailing from a standout college career at Duke, Flagg was selected to play in the NBA for the Dallas Mavericks during the 2025 NBA draft. For the special occasion, he wore a pair of black velvet loafers from Christian Louboutin to complement his navy blue suit. Showing support for the athlete, New Balance rebranded the NBA draft day as Flagg Day and dropped a Flagg Day apparel collection. The athletic brand revealed its multiyear partnership with Flagg in August 2024.
