EXCLUSIVE: Lonely Ghost Updates Merrell’s Moab Speed 2 Vent 2K Sneaker in New Collab

Merrell is teaming up Lonely Ghost on the cult-favorite lifestyle brand’s first footwear partnership.
The collaboration is centered around a reimagined Merrell Moab Speed 2 Vent 2K sneaker and three full apparel looks. The sneaker will be available in two colorways – Chalk/Mariana and Graphite/Ash – and offers four interchangeable laces and an optional charm kit included with every pair. The capsule also includes three street-meets-trail apparel looks and an exclusive trucker hat.
Richard McLeod, chief marketing officer at Merrell, said in a statement that the brand believes that stepping outside – whether it’s a trail, a city street, or your own front step – has the power to reset you.
“This collaboration with Lonely Ghost brings that belief to a new audience in a way that’s personal, expressive, and culture-forward,” McLeod noted.
Bronson Christensen, co-founder of Lonely Ghost, added that this brand “exists to spark joyful, human moments, and movement outside is one of the best ways to reconnect with yourself and others.”
“Merrell brings decades of experience in the outdoors, and they truly understand the emotional side of exploration,” Christensen said. “This collection isn’t just about product, it’s about self-expression, connection, and showing up fully as yourself.”

To help launch this collection, Merrell and Lonely Ghost will host two events in New York City this week. On Sept. 26, the duo will host a full-day experience at Leon’s Bagels featuring custom giveaways, the opportunity to gain exclusive early access to the collection. And on Sept. 27, consumers will be able to shop the full collection and create your own look at a custom lace and charm bar at the Pacsun store in SoHo.
The Merrell x Lonely Ghost Moab Speed 2 Vent 2K sneaker will be available from Sept. 27 on Merrell.com, with the full collection available on Lonelyghost.co and exclusively at select Pacsun locations nationwide.
This collaboration follows similar tie-ups for Lonely Ghost. Previous partnerships include luggage with Béis and a co-branded Double Dough ice cream flavor and a sprinkling of apparel with Jeni’s Ice Cream.
As for Merrell, the outdoor brand is helping to lead sales gains at parent company Wolverine Worldwide.
In August, the Rockford, Mich.-based footwear company said total revenue in the second quarter of 2025 was $474.2 million, up 11.5 percent from $425.2 million the same time last year.
By brand, Saucony and Merrell led the way in Q2 in terms of growth. At Saucony, net sales in the period were $144.3 million, a 41.5 percent increase from $102.0 million the prior year. At Merrell, net sales were $157.9 million, a 10.7 percent increase from $142.7 million just a year ago.
